Jimsair Corporate Aviation
Terminal & Restaurant
San Diego International Airport
Terminal 30,000 s.f.
Restaurant 5,000 s.f.
Corporate Offices 10,000 s.f.
The idea of flight is complex and requires a creative and intelligent response to achieve. The end result, the”wing”, is sophisticated, elegant and graceful. Each curve and line has a purpose creating a clear and simple form. The goal for Jimsair is to create a strong and recognizable landmark representative of their service and their clientele.
The design for the FBO at Jimsair reflects this image with the wing roof, exposed structural supports and expansive curtain wall. Whether entering from the ramp or the street, service to the clientele and security were primary design considerations. The ground floor consist of the FBO and terminal operations, the restaurant is on the second floor with dramatic views to the city and the ramp in a two story space and the corporate offices are on level three.
