This single room occupancy hotel in the Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego is the result of careful renovation to an existing unreinforced masonry building. The street-level ground floor consists of retail shops and restaurants, while level two and three provide affordable hotel rooms for short and long term residency. Renovation Details: The existing brick facade had been previously plastered over. The plaster was removed, the brick restored and traditional plaster moldings and cornices were replicated. In addition to these changes, the structure of the building was reinforced to meet current codes.
