For three decades, brothers David and Steven Hawkins have been designing and building creative solutions that provide for a human sense of place, an understanding of the local environment in which they build, and the need for a sustainable end product. Through thoughtful planning and intense collaboration with our clients and our many respected consultants, we strive to create projects that go beyond the project objectives with grace, beauty, and creativity.

Through our ever-evolving process of design, H2A provides its clients with services ranging from Programming, Feasibility Studies, Master Planning, Architectural Design, Interior Design and Space Planning, to Sustainable Design and Construction Management. We are careful to tailor these services to the requirements for each project. Our commitment to Sustainable Design is evidenced in our recently completed North Island Credit Union Corporate Headquarters, a 130,000 square foot facility, which received a LEED Silver certification.

H2A’s studio design philosophy encourages team collaboration from project inception to occupancy. The Project Architect and Principal in charge assure continuity throughout the process by directing the design team in concert with the client. Through this collaborative effort, H2A proactively pursues a synthesis of detailed information and ideas. We believe that a team structure with our clients, staffed by well-trained and experienced professionals, is fundamental to our sustained reputation and to the success of each project.

At H2A, the combination of our design and construction expertise allows for a qualified response to the budget and technical needs of our client. We provide value engineering to determine the appropriate building systems, materials, and methods as they relate to cost and function. It is our goal to provide quality design within the parameters of the construction budget, while fulfilling the project goals. Because of our effort, we create value for each client, and success for each project, with the highest quality of design and service.

H2A has been honored with numerous Design Awards including Gold Nuggets from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference, ‘Best of American Remodeling’, ‘Home of the Year’ from San Diego Décor, Sun Coast Architects/Builders, The Moscow Architectural Journal, the San Diego Union, the LA Times Home section, and Sunset Magazine.
